we watched 'the road' last night. i hadn't even heard of that movie until last night. Jimmy read the book when he was traveling back from NZ. He said we were in for a very depressing scary movie. HE WAS RIGHT! holy intense. aside from how dark and twisted and depressing it was I actually liked it. the filmography was beautiful, the acting was superb and the story was suspenseful and fully sucked you in. I recommend it. But watch it with kittens and make sure you don't have to go down to the basement for anything.

I was just reading a review of the book on another blog, now I'll definitely have to check it out.

If you liked "The Road", you should read "Blood Meridian". It makes "The Road" seem like a Kate Hudson-esque romantic comedy. If you like your Westerns sprinkled with mass homicide and Gnostic mysticism, Cormac McCarthy's the man for you.
